convert 2004 aircrat to flightsimX

Featured Replies

I have plenty of 2004 a/c & would love to convert them for use in fltsimX - AI & repaint a/c.

Some you might win but many you will loose, just read the posts on converting and you will see it can be a headache, textures wont show up, gauges wont work, props stuck behind clouds, contorls may not function, its not worth yhe effort. If you want AI use WOAI, they probably have all you need , including some ga stuff.

In case of default FS2004 aircrafts, you can fly them within FSX. There is a how-to document.http://www.flightsimulatorguide.com/fs9-to-fsx.htmlIt works good, but gauges are not exactly same as FS2004. These would be replaced by FSX's. To make FS2004 default gauges work in FSX, some tricks are needed.1. verify what .gau files are needed by the aircraft you want 2. copy them into aircraft panel folder of FSX, and replace .gau extension to .dll. That makes FSX recognize gau files directly.3. copy two run-time library files from FS2004 to FSX main folder. These are msvcp70.dll and msvcr70.dll.That's all. But every FS2004 aircrafts in FSX, have opaqued windshield problem in rainy day. To work around this problem, install the windshield texture patch. Follow the linkhttp://www.fsinsider.com/tips/Pages/Suppor...eintheRain.aspxI'm using this trick to fly RealAir C172 within FSX. It works nice.Good luck
