Sharing the Duke

Featured Replies

My only experience has been with one person, but we seem to have a lot of problems sharing the Duke. The first time was with a friend I joined in midair... artificial horizon was banked one way and turn coordinator was banking the other... bailed out just before my aircraft would have crashed. He said plane was always flying normally. Next time I tried flying the Duke I found my nose-wheel steering was now castoring. Checked my config settings.... they were still default so I changed something and changed it back to give me the option of resaving the config. The second time he tried to join my aircraft while sitting on the ramp. My engines died and I could not restart them. He left my plane and then I could start engines... yes HIS config was cold and dark... he changed his settings to default like mine. I gave him control and he unsuccessfully tried to taxi... gave me back control... then he said it wasn't working for some unspecified reason. Can anyone confirm that, unlike all previous RealAir offerings; this aircraft is not compat with shared Cockpit? Also that config settings conflict when sharing?Robert Alley

Hi Robert,First I hope you like the Duke as a single pilot, piloting it without the sharing. I assume this is a multiplayer session but I'm not sure you are flying two Dukes or one Duke and another default aircraft. We have had reports that multiplayer has some issues here, but I reckon that is because the Duke is pushing quite a few graphical and other boundaries that FSX in its original state might not be made to cope with. This is probably the consequence of the very high resolution graphics and other custom features which, in normal circumstances, we believe work flawlessly. We are looking into Multiplayer aspects and so far we have established that running two or more Dukes in multiplayer is often pushing typical graphics cards beyond what they can handle. As to sharing, I do not know enough about this aspect of FSX to advise with sufficient knowledge.Best Regards,Rob - RealAir
