May 7, 200917 yr Hello; I have an unusual problem. I hope it is easily fixed, I recently uninstalled some files that I thought were unimportant. A freeware aircraft, and there was another folder in the SimObjects folder that was empty. Ever since I have been unable to go into multiplayer. Its not that I can't connect or join in. The option for multiplayer in the FSX start up/ opening screen, is completely missing. Its not even a choice. I have had no other problems with multiplayer until this. Any ideas out there? What files are supposed to be in place for the multiplayer option to appear on the main screen?I cant recover the files (tried) and I can't remember what they were (senility?)...The aircraft is the only one I can reinstall. Thanks
May 7, 200917 yr Try to do a repair of FSX, put in disc #1 and click on repair, just a shot because I never has this problem. Good luck.
May 8, 200917 yr Thanks for your prompt reply. I did as you suggested and then FSX refused to start after that.. It would go through the start up screen etc..then shutdown to desktop, with a send error report message. So all in all I ended up doing a complete un-install and re-install of the FSX. Now, couple hours later..All is well again. I have all the addons right where I left them. Strange indeed. I do not know what caused it to misplace the multiplayer in the first place.
May 28, 200917 yr I did experience this problem a while ago. It's generally because there was a problem with the activation, but it might be different in your case. A quick call to MS, like I did, should fix this.
July 2, 200916 yr Hi,I had this problem also. You need to register (activate)your copy of fsx. This is when you first start your fsx, and your asked to put in your product key. If you didnt, FSX will run in "restricted mode" which is when the Multiplayer option is not avalible. If you already did this, navagate to you fsx root folder, search for "activate.exe" and run the program. Enter the info, then press next and ok. That should be what it is- private message me if it isn't.Hope this helps!Matt
