June 3, 200917 yr Hi, After hitting a wall in trying to figure out my "failed to read form file" problems I decided to get a new graphics card (Radeon HD 4550 to substitute an X800). I did this also, since the card was acting up generally, so it needed changing anyway. I installed it and things work way better, to the point that the program has not crashed with the infamous error message, but I do get this weird looking textures. Can anybody give me an idea of what may be causing this? I think it may be related to my previous file problem. I am using FS9, with XP Home, and a 3GHz, Pentium 4 single core. The default scenery below shows PANC (Ted Stevens Intl. in Anchorage, Alaska). Many thanks in advance for your help, regards,Macs :)
June 4, 200917 yr You seem to be running very high detail textures and other applications. Perhaps this is creating a situation where you exceed the capacities of your hardware. You could try resetting your display settings - simply go to each of the display tabs and click on the Reset button. This will set everything to the default settings for your hardware. Then, see if you still have graphics problems.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!

I actually uninstalled most all 3rd. party scenery add-ons (all freeware) and did a test flight which went good, no weird scenery or crashes. I will start checking out exactly how much I can get away with. regards, Macs :) P.S.: I am sure this is not the end it, but am crossing my fingers....
