June 20, 200916 yr Hi I have come accross a bug with my 600/700 setup, both series have a cold & dark flightdeck on the 2D view even tho the engines are running, and if i then click on the overhead panel button the bottom half of my screen goes blank,I updated the FSUIPC as noted in the PMDG Support page thinking this would help and the issue still stands, what can i do to fix this? Thanks Brad - P3Dv4.5 AIG Moderator | Afcad Editor | FAIB Beta | FSPX Beta
June 21, 200916 yr I suffered from the same problem starting yesterday following the "download" of a 757 product. I have been flying the PMDG 737 for several weeks with no trouble until last night. After the new aircraft was added I returned to fly the 737-900 on a hop from KHOU to KDFW but the program opened with engines running but all screens dark and despite turning the overhead battery switch to "ON" and the annunciators on the overhead illuminating, the main panel remained dark. We followed the FSUIPC directions but no joy on that fix. We are about to uninstall the 757 and if that does the trick I will write to inform you. You did not mention whether you had just added anything, but in my case there seems to be a connection. If anyone can advise all help will be appreciated.DocJ
June 21, 200916 yr The update following removal of the 757 did nothing to fix our 737 trouble. If it helps, I checked some other aircraft in FS2004 and some work while others are now down. The F-Lite 747 seems fine, but my VRS-F-18E simply closes out FS2004 and defaults to the Windows screen. This occurs immediately after clicking on the "Fly Now" button in 2004. Note that my 737 worked great and was among the best payware purchases we have made. Not being able to fly such a fine aircraft sim is not an option as I am sure it is for you all. I have tried everything I can think of including checking to see if I accidentley "Saved" a flight that ended with a Cold-Dark cockpit in any aircraft from 2004, with no luck. In fact, the only flights during the previous four days were those in the 737 from 2004, and one after downloading the 757, flown in FSX. Very strange. We are now doing a "System Restore" from Thursday to see if that will help. Updates if successful.DocJ
June 21, 200916 yr Hi Group, well the good news is that doing a "System Restore" to a few days ago worked and my PMDG 737 is back in the skies. The F-18E is also ready for lauch and Micrsoft's info box assures us that "restoration is complete and no documents were lost or altered." So I hope this can help someone in the short-term. What actually caused it, however, still needs to be addressed by the talented people with far greater software skills than mine. Years of real-world flying does nothing for developing the skills one needs to solve a simple computer glitch. We have found that groups like these are essential for keeping our "hobbies" or "passions." I hope this helps and thanks to PMDG for your truly outstanding products. Rest assured that both the MD-11 and full version 747 will soon be in the hanger as will the 737NGX.DocJ
June 21, 200916 yr Author Just to note, i noticed that if you own both the 600/700 & the 800/900 packs they need to be installed and updated in a certain way!!! as followsInstallation notes:Before executing the patch a deinstallation of the PMDG 737 NG 600/700 and PMDG 737-800/900 is required. The correct installation order is as follows:1)PMDG 737 NG 600/7002)PMDG 737-800/9003)Execute patch(PMDG_737-800-900_Aerosoft_CD_Patch.EXE)4)Optional model update(737-800/900) Brad - P3Dv4.5 AIG Moderator | Afcad Editor | FAIB Beta | FSPX Beta
