Adding to pull down parking list

Featured Replies

I'm not sure if this is a question better asked in another forum but here goes...I use FS9. My home airport is Atlanta-Hartsfield. I currently have an add-on that I acquired through AVSIM that enhances the airport experience with new taxiways, gates, etc. However, when looking at the parking list when "creating a flight" at KATL, the number of gates in the game are not present there. I have an AFCAD editor and have looked at the file that I am using for KATL. On the display, I see all the parking spaces and gates but in the parking list, they are not all listed. I take it that what shows in the AFCAD editor for parking list is what actually is shown in the game. How can I add to this parking list in the AFCAD program to be able to be seen as an option in the sim itself?James Williams

I have run into this before. The first thing you need to do is to make sure there is only one afcad that represents the parking spaces, runways, and taxiways. This can be a somewhat confusing task, as some authors make several afcads for the same airport, all showing different things. For instance, i have seen an airport that had a seperate afcad for runways, taxiways, parking, taxi signs, etc. Look for an afcad that show all you need. If there are more than one, open the afcad and see what is there. If you don't like it, make note of its file location on your system, and either rename it to XXXX.old or something to that effect. Rember that afcads will usually start with AF2-xxxx.bgl or in some cases AFCAD_XXXX.bgl. Another solution is to move that afcad to a different directory altogether. I have a folder on my desktop that contain all the afcads not in use. Then if you see the Afcad you want in the proper directory, it should work. The thing is, FS will only use one afcad showing the layout of taxis runways and parking at a time, so any other afcads will cause a conflict. Most afcads will be found in either your addon scenery\scenery directory, or your addon scenery\airport\scenery directory. The default afcads are found in the fs9\Scenery\World\scenery directory. These do not seem to conflict with the addon scenerys so much as the add ons do.Its kind of convoluted I know, but the first thing to check is if you had more than one addon of the same airport, then there is where the search begins. There is a utility here (when the library becomes available) and at Flightsim.com called Scanafd.zip that can help with finding duplicate afcads.Hope this helpsJohn
