Decided to have another crack at Vista - installed it in new hard drive then installed both FSX and FS9. They both fly OK butwhilst in FS9 I get full sound around the aircraft and in the cockpit and ATC functions correctly - when I try FSX the soundis not good. I get no engine sound in the cockpit and outside it is in stereo - sound left or right as I move around theaircraft. However in ATC I get the selection of commands in the window but no atc voice.I`ve checked and double checked the configbut am stumped. Why FS9 but not FSX ???Any clues, guysRegardsGeorge

Do you have a headset plugged in, but aren't using?

Normally if I get an issue with Vista it is invariably a permissions one and requires me to give the application full permissions, or to run it as an admin. Have you checked those? You can right click on the application icon to check that.The only other reason I can think why ATC might not talk to you is, you might have upset the Baby ******* and made him cry. ATC would never talk to you if you did that.Al
