FS9 & Windows 7: CTD at start-up

Featured Replies

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,I recently bought myself some new hardware and decided to try out the Windows 7 64 bit Release Candidate. All I can say is, that the performance is really good. Better than I anticipated. But here is my problem:When I first installed FS9.1 everything was fine. With stock scenery and aircraft the simulator runs with no problems.Next I installed Ultimate Terrain and it was still all fine. Active Sky 6.5 and ASA run without errors. Then I began installing some of my add-on airports. Several German airports worked fine. But when I tried to start the sim yesterday,it just would not start up. The FS splash screen shows for a fraction of a second before crashing to desktop without any error message. The last airport I installed before the problem occured was Amsterdam by Cloud9 IIRC, but I am not sure. Uninstalling all add-ons did not help at all.Even with default scenery only, the sim crashes without any advice or hint.Is there a known problem with FS9 under Windows 7? I tried FSX but even with my new hardware it did not give me the performance I was hoping to get.I would really appreciate your help. I used the 3 GB patch on the FS9.exe this can not be the source of the problem, as it ran fine before.RegardsAlexander
