wing views

Featured Replies

Can someone tell me how to edit the aircraft.cfg file within the FFX models to get wing views from a passenger sitpoint.Thx,JP

You don't edit the aircraft config, you edit your panel config. Download the American Airlines package I released and it has the panel view settings in the readme.Mike BaumannFlight FX Design GroupStewart Global Aircraft

Actually, you can edit either one, but I agree that the panel.cfg file is the way to go.In the aircraft.cfg file, you edit the eyepoint line to change your point of view in the VC. I include multiple lines in my files (if I do it this way), to enable quick changing of the views (here from my DC-6B):eyepoint=30.294533,-2.104209,3.606102 //normal VC//eyepoint=-21.294533,-2.104209,3.606102 //wing view//eyepoint=10.294533,-2.104209,3.606102 //engine viewJust remove the // from the one you want and add it to the rest. Go to the Aircraft/Select Aircraft menu and click OK (once you've edited the file) to change views. The panel.cfg file should be edited (also in the VIEWS section) to add/change some views. This is what I used for my DC-6 panel - Ctrl-Shift-7/9 from the passenger cockpit and Ctrl-Shift-1/3 from the cockpit:View_forward_right_up_windows=39 //Pass Seat viewView_forward_right_up_dir=0.0,0.0,50View_forward_right_up_eye=0.0,-0.25,-15.47//Ctrl-Shift-9View_forward_left_up_windows=40 //Pass Seat viewView_forward_left_up_dir=9.0,0.0,310View_forward_left_up_eye=0.0,-0.25,-15.47//Ctrl-Shift-7View_rear_left_up_windows=41 //Left Wing viewView_rear_left_up_dir=9.0,0.0,210View_rear_left_up_eye=-1.8,-0.10,5.49//Ctrl-Shift-1View_rear_right_up_windows=42 //Right Wing viewView_rear_right_up_dir=9.0,0.0,147View_rear_right_up_eye=3.0,-0.10,5.49//Ctrl-Shift-3These are just examples, the numbers would have to be changed for the plane referred to in the original post.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
