Force feedback

Featured Replies

After ignoring Force Feedback technology for years, I find myself wondering what it might do for me. That is, what effects are modeled? I understand there's a bump at touchdown, but what about stick forces in the air. Are they progressive, depending upon speed, bank angle etc? How about turbulence? Just how worthwhile are they for a vfr, low and slow flyer like myself? Finally, do most add on aircraft also model the effects? I didn't see these specific questions in a search. Thanks for your help.

Really depends on the aircraft and other effects. I have a FF sidewinder 2 and I love it! I have certain ships that you can "feel" in the stick while flying, especially on taxi and landing. the cessna 421 payware feels really good IMO (especially with active camera in VC mode). I don't have a yoke, so I don't know how it would work with that, if at all. I think any feeling, even if it is small adds to the realism. I fly rotory wing quite a bit and unfortunately they don't utilize FF for the most part, hope the new sim has fixed some of these issues.Regards, Michaelhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com
