VC Night lighting question

Featured Replies

Hi there all,I've recently invested in FSX Gold and been enjoying it, only issue I'm having is with the lighting when using the VC, if the lights are on, there is to much glare on the windscreen, and when its off I can't see the any instruments. I recently downloaded the PSOKY 777 aircraft and the has great night VC effects (dimmed light and luminescent panel) so I can see what's going on outside, and check my instruments! Is there any add-on that I can get to add a similar effect to the default aircraft?Cheers.

With the default aircraft you can edit the the window textures to lessen or to completely remove the effect...I'm happy to help you out is it's for one aircraft it's done in few minutes ;-)Cheers,

- First look for the texture with name *.reflection.dds which resides in your aircraft texture folder. You can edit dds files for example with photoshop or other graphics program that can read dds files.- Make sure to download in case of photoshop the developer plugin form Nvidia- You can change the alpha channel from white (most strong effect) to black (no effect) and grey values in between.- Or you can make the texture in photoshop/graphics program more transparent.- Or you can use both techniques...Have fun,Cheers,
