July 2, 200916 yr I'm in trouble with some add-ons (aircraft and missions)...I'm running FSX sp2 but when I try to install some addons they abort with a message claiming for at least FSX Acceleration. My whole setup is not on the default drive\path (C:\Program files\microsoft games etc.) , but have been made on another drive (L:).Is it possible that there is a missing or wrong registry entry somewhere causing the error of installation attempt by these addons? What should I put in my registry to solve the problem?Or is it something else, and what? Thanks ! ;)
July 2, 200916 yr Well, you just said you had SP2 installed and that the addon wanted Acceleration, which you don't have installed. Sounds like the install is failing correctly :-> Tim http://fsandm.wordpress.com
July 3, 200916 yr Author You're right but I'd like to fly these addons, because they are suppoosed to be used with Acceleration and/or SP2. ;)Actually what I'd like to try is manually setting the FSX Acceleration registry key in order to let these addons "detect" the presence of this pack and be installed.Any clue?
July 3, 200916 yr Hi,If you don't have Acceleration installed there is no way to trick anything to think that you do have Acc. installed. If it is SP2 that is needed, uninstall just SP2 and reinstall it and see what happens.
July 3, 200916 yr If your aircraft & missions have anything to do with the aircraft carrier, then you need Acceleration, and not just SP2. There are also I believe a couple of objects and triggers in Missions that appear in Acceleration that are not in SP2. The only way to get those is to pony up for Acceleration!Jeff ShylukSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM
July 4, 200916 yr Author OK now it's clear. It is related to carriers. I loose on this one. :(Thanks anyway! ;)
