missing buttons and led's on auto pilot

Featured Replies

Hello: just bought the MD11 a week ago and everything is working great except for one little detail. The Flight guidance panel FCP is blacked out where the buttons and switches should be and the led displays are all black. They are there on the VC but when you pull the FGP popup there black.I have tried this both in widescreen and normal and even with the undockable panels all are the same as if the texture or bitmap for this gauge is corrupted. Also the ECP and the rest of the guidance panel is fine just the FCP. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Other than that awesome aircraft!Peter Wheatley

During installation, did you 'allow' all the pop-ups when FSX first loaded? Sometimes you have to accept the custom guages that are installed. Also, black panels could be a sign of bad verfication. I know this link is for the 747, but it may apply to your plane also. See point 1.2 : http://ops.precisionmanuals.com/wiki/PMDG_...ng_the_plane.3FYou could also try the 'magic' registry repair tool. You'd be surprised what this can fix! http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=libraryAlso try point 1.4 and 1.5 here http://ops.precisionmanuals.com/wiki/PMDG_...G_dll_files_CTDAgain, its for the 747, but it may apply to other PMDG products.

Thank you so much you steered me right into the answer.. was just a matter of deleting the trusted portion of the fsxcfg and restarting fsx... problem solved...Blue skies...Peter Wheatley

Ok sorry spoke too soon... The gauge loaded fine however when i tried to rotate the knobs ie: set the altitude i could hear the clicking but the led didnt change yet it did change the led on the VC dash. I tried to resize the panel at that point and as soon as i did the buttons and led's all went black again. I tried the registry fix but that didnt seem to help. I will try a reload tomorrow however i have already done one reload and that didnt seem to fix it either. Thanks again for your support.Peter Wheatley

Ok problem solved.... turns out the flight guidance panel on the menu bar only seems to work in 2d cockpit and I later found the ECP/FCP toggle and that brought it up for the virtual cockpit. all seems well thanks for your support!Peter Wheatley
