August 7, 200916 yr Hey guysI was wondering how can one go about creating a scenario for research purpose? I basically would like to create a situation where I will say make a Cessna 182 fly 2nm in across the screen from the 3 o'clock position to the 9 o'clock position. But since I am such a noob in FS, I was wondering if I should create it as an AI or should I create it as a Mission?Your help would be greatly appreciated!!!Thanks!
August 7, 200916 yr It would help us to know if you're using FS9 or FSX..I'm assuming since you used the word 'mission' that it's FSX.There are many programs that will help you write flightplans so you can accomplish the very thing you need. Please reply with more info so we can help.KJ

I am intending to use FS2004 to accomplish this.
August 8, 200916 yr That's an interesting premise...hummm...we making a disaster flick or something? I'm not quite sure how to accomplish your request using the information provided. Do you want to be sitting on the ground somewhere, (I think that would be your best bet if you just want to get a visual and make a recording). Give me a bit more information and I might be able to help...been writing an AI flight planning tool the last week or so :)Mark
August 8, 200916 yr Ok guysWhat I am planning to do is to conduct a research on the reaction of pilots. Basically, I am planning to wire up 3 screens via a Triplehead card. I will place these screens in 2 different configuration. First, all the 3 screens will be placed side by side to form a field of vision of 135
August 9, 200916 yr You're AI aircraft will have to have a departure and arrival destination..which can be the same.In order to get an AI aircraft to fly a specific route you add waypoints. Waypoints are simply lat/long co-ordinates added to a flight plan masked as an airport in the sky.The AI aircraft will depart at whatever time you plug into the flightplan. The only bad thing about waypoints is that if you use an AI model with retractable gear, the AI pilot will lower the gear in anticipation of landing at the waypoint...which of course it won't do and will continue on to the next waypoint or it's destination airfield.KJ
