August 19, 200916 yr I'm having a problem getting the Cessna 172 GPS to navigate. As hard as it is to see the numbers and letters, I managed to enter my home airprt identifier using the Direct To key, then Enter, according to the manual's GPS section (Page 97). I also had the CDI button on GPS. The a/p is in Auto, but nothing happens. The manual doesn't even mention that the A/P needs to be on for the GPS. I tried with it both on and then off, but no success. What am I missing? In FSX, there is also a NAV button on the Autopilot that must be on to activate the GPS, as well as a VOR/GPS button in certain aircraft. I tried nav 1 and nav 2 selection (little green light) also. Thanks for all the help so far in getting used to this new sim. Regards, Tom

If your CDI is set to GPS then hitting LOC should have your aircraft follow the course set on the GPS. However, X-Plane can be a little glitchy as far as that is concerned (the GPS really needs some work). If it doesn't catch at any stage, change the location set on the GPS momentarily and you should be back on course again :)Setanta
