JF PSS B772LR installing Engine Sounds

Featured Replies

I'm trying to install a new set of engine sounds. I have the latest set by Devyn Silverstein and Jimmy Foong, but the Readme is not helpful - I guess they think everyone knows how to do it, by now :( I would appreciate some help, pleaseEdit: Just read the Readme again, it says = "Installation ---- Just extract the sounds into the sound folder of the aircraft of your choice." - does this mean extracting all the snd. files and pasting them on top of the existing ones?Ken

First extract the downloaded sound file to any working folder of your choice. If the separate extracted sound files are not automatically placed in a folder named "Sound" then create such a new folder yourself and name it "sound". Then select all the separate sound files. Cut and paste them all in your new sound folder.Go to the aircraft with which you want to use these new sounds and rename any existing sound folder to "SoundOLD". Then go back to your working folder and select your new sound folder. Cut and paste it in the same aircraft. In this way you can try the new sounds and if for any reason they do not work correctly or you don't like them, then you can always delete this new sound folder and rename the "SoundOLD" one back to "Sound".Good luck.Hans

Thanks Hans for your reply, I'll try that and let you know how it goes.Ken

Hello Hans, I'm afraid that didn't work. It might be something to do with .cfg files.I'll keep trying. Thanks for trying to help,Ken
