Editvoicepack Troubles

Recommended Posts

I'm having problems getting it to say the callsign correctly. For example, it say Boeing N700MS, instead of Air Jamaica. I imported Air Jamaica, but it still doesn't work.

Do you think it could be an import problem of mine?

Again, no need to import. The callsign is "Juliett Mike" (see http://www1.faa.gov/ATPubs/CNT/3-2-J.htm) and it is included in the automated update of EditVoicepack. Sorry to spoil your fun of hunting around various sites to download updates, but there really is no need with EditVoicepack. :)Please make sure you have a flight number specified. Without a flight number, ATC will always refer to you by registration./Lars

It's true that some places list the callsign for Air Jamaica as "Juliet Mike", but I've never heard them called anything but "Jamaica" on the radio. So, "Jamica" would be accurate.Same for DHL. The "official" sites say the callsign is "dahl", but I always hear "D-H-L".

Strange - the FAA list it as Juliett Mike, but the ICAO document does indeed list it as "Jamaica". Maybe the callsign was changed - who knows. I will add it to EditVoicepack if someone cares to upload it (I'll just keep both, then people can make up there mind themselves).DHL is certainly unofficial. ICAO does not accept three-letter callsigns (unless of course the tree letters are forming a word, not pronounced one by one), except for what they refer to as "designators of long standing (such as KLM and TWA)"./Lars
