Issues with scenary

Featured Replies

Hi,I have added a few third party programs to enhance the ground scenary in Australia. I have noticed that now there are trees turning up on roads and that there are waves showing on land close to the coast and that some objects are placed slightly out of position. In some areas I have also noticed that the car traffic is not driving on the road and is slightly off the road by a centermeter or so. When I first got fsx I installed a lot of third party freeware programs and I am thinking this has affected in some way. Is there a way to fix this whithout having to uninstall and start reinstalling things from the start again. Thanks

FSX default does not have all it's scenery placed accurately in the world. Airports might be off by a couple miles in some places. Roads may not be lined up correctly. It all works OK until you start adding scenery addons that have placed the new stuff in more accurate locations. Then you may see buildings on roads, cars driving off the roads, etc.You aren't experiencing anything "new" to any version of Flight Simulator. Depending on the addons you have, you will encounter the things you are describing. One alternative is to purchase quality addons that combine the things you are seeing so they all work together. An example is UTX. It relocates all shorelines, roads, rivers, lakes, and a variety of other things to more real-world accurate locations, but they are all designed to work with each other. You will still see some AI road traffic in the wrong places, some autogen buildings out of place, etc, but overall the entire "package" works well together. When you start adding a bunch of individual smaller addons, they may not "play nice" with each other. There is no 100% fix for what you are seeing. You learn to get used to it. Sometimes, it is actually amusing...if you keep your sense of humor and remember FSX is a simulation. There is no need to uninstall and re-intall FSX. You could simply uninstall the addons if you wanted if what you see bothers you too much.EDIT: If you are particularly concerned with Australia, buy the ORBX FTX Austarlia series. It will definitely solve all the problems you are seeing for Australia. It's an outstanding scenery addon for the entire Australian continent, and well worth the purchase price. Then throw away any other Australia addons you have. You won't be using them anymore. http://fullterrain.com/index.htmlRick

Thanks for the quick reply, Is there a way of removing the auto gen trees and other graphic add ons such as the waves. From memory i updated the bgl file for trees and added or replaced a file that made the shore lines look more graphic. I think this may also be causing this. I have tried some trial demo payware and still had the above issue this is why i think that an installation of some file has caused this.I also had an issue with Sydney airport where it wasnt showing the tower. This was fixed only yesterday as i had added the add on scenary file to the file libary was once removed it is now showing. I have also noticed that one of the gates in the international terminal is not actually connected to the terminal at all and there is a huge gap, not sure if this is normal either. Thanks again,I forgot to mention i tried the ftx blue demo and still had the issue with scenary not being where it should be
