performance increase from i940 to i975

Wondered if any users had migrated from an i7 940 to an i7 975, and if so how much of a performance increase. I'm having specific problems with stutters when My Traffic injects aircraft into the bubble.

Are we talking stock? then yes. if you o/c either, then probably no. only if you got a dodgy 940 chip.
