September 9, 200916 yr Commercial Member Hi AlexanderAn i920 at a stable 4GHz with 12GB of RAM sure sounds good on paper, not certain if in reality this may not be a bit too much for the memory controller to handle? I would start off with 6GB (3x2) unless you have very specific reasons for needing an extra 6. Either way it will be imperative to get the correct low latency DDR3 modules if you want to get to, and stay at, 4GHz succesfully. I do not recall the exact Mushkin set which comes highly recommended...The 2 Vraptors in RAID-0 on a dedicated controller card would only be worth the extra expense if you use a lot of photoscenery on a regular basis. See the About Storage Performance section (towards the end of the post) of Nick's FSX guide here for more specific details related to RAID, controller cards and FSX. Konrad
September 10, 200916 yr Author i will be using orbx FTX photoreal scenery, maybe i should just keep it at 12....I'm not really a pro, so do make some reccomendationscheers Alexander Michael
September 10, 200916 yr I believe it was mentioned that 6GB is plenty for FSX. Scenery would be using more of your video ram than your system ram.
