September 10, 200916 yr Hi guys,Having some issues with ASA and FSX. On the ground, the winds display correctly. That is, what ASA is reporting is what I see in FSX. However at altitude, the winds differ. For instance, ASA might be reporting 260/100 at F390 but the winds in the sim are 300/60? I have followed the settings as per this post.I have a registered version of FSUIPC.Any ideas?
September 10, 200916 yr Hi i have the exactly the same problem last nite i did a flt from sydney to perth the winds on the ground and for most of the climb and descent where spot on what asx said they would be and for most of the cruise but just after half way the winds went around 180degress and wind dropped off from memory the wind was meant to be 273/110 but in fsx they was 030/44 but as i approached TOD it fixed it self,i have asx build (1169) have also got the same settings as the link above http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=257822 any ideas? Also latest fsupic registeredThanksAndrew
September 11, 200916 yr Soulman,What Build number of ASA?For FSUIPC are you using Default Settings and Weather Settings Off?In ASA is DWC On or Off?Thanks,Jim
September 11, 200916 yr Andrew,It could have been the fact that in certain parts of the world, data stations a fewer. Also try with wind shift stabilization off and see if that helps. Thanks,
September 11, 200916 yr Soulman,What Build number of ASA?For FSUIPC are you using Default Settings and Weather Settings Off?In ASA is DWC On or Off?Thanks,JimHi Jim,B433.FSUIPC default settings and weather settings are off.DWC is on.
September 11, 200916 yr jim tryed that with shift on and off and also fsupic weather off and stuff still nothing i dont understand there is a weather station there saying the wind was meant to be fl 360 330/40 but fs showe a eastly at like 100kts the information in asx is correct but its not going on to flight sim clouds temp and qnh etc all correct just the winds in the cruise seem to just go all over the place!
September 12, 200916 yr Soulman,Are Create Additional Stations On and Enhanced Route Coverage On in ASA?Flightplan processed? Thanks,Andrew,Where are you reading the winds from in FSX?Thanks,
September 12, 200916 yr Soulman,Are Create Additional Stations On and Enhanced Route Coverage On in ASA?Flightplan processed?Yes, yes and yes.Got me stumped!
September 13, 200916 yr seems to be a problem with i dont think a station because asx says the wind will be 360/50kts but in fsx its all over the shop always happens in the cruise never on descent or climb etc! its so annoying do a 4 hour sector and fuel planning etc is out the window! :(
September 13, 200916 yr OK, thanks. What stations are you seeing this at?Same as Dash 8 Classic - the winds in ASA appear correct. I've checked them against RSWT data from other sources and they look spot on.However the winds depicted in the sim appear different. Sometimes by 30 or 40 degrees or 20 or 30 knots, at worst they occassionally appear 180 degrees out! Most of my flying has been within Australia and across the Tasman. The initial depiction on the ground is as per ASA. It's later in the cruise when the winds start to play up. Perhaps it's an FSUIPC issue? It seems to have something to do with the connection between ASA and FSX because that is where it is going wrong.
September 13, 200916 yr Hi,If you think it is a FSUIPC issue you can reset FSUIPC to Default settings and Weather Settings Off and then try a flight. Thanks,
September 14, 200916 yr its the most up todate version both fsupic and asx :( maybe should just go to fs9 and as V6 again :( bit of a let down tho spend alot of money for fsx and addons and asx
