September 11, 200916 yr I've got a Project Open Sky 777-200, and I'm trying to move the opensky_conden.fx effect. I want to move the effect origin point back and up slightly. However, no matter what I do, I cannot get the origin point to move further than a certain point, which isn't quite far enough. Is there a reason for this, and a way around it? I'm editing the [smokesystem] entry in the airplane's .cfg file using wordpad, in the coordinates area. I can put huge values in and yet the origin point will not move any further up or back on the model.

That is, not by changing the Vertical position of the effect in the aircraft.cfg file (that's a "bug" in FS9; that parameter simply does nothing). The only way (in FS9) is to change the effect file parameters themselves.Rob
September 11, 200916 yr Hello,Project Opensky planes can be tricky to mod .. cause they bond many things in the model.Nevertheless they have a support forum.http://forum.projectopensky.comPlease read carefully all the support FAQ before posting there and also respect at the letter the posting rules (they are picky on those) and it will be no problems.Regards.Gus.

September 12, 200916 yr Ohhhh lol using lights for the effects is pretty trick. I'll have to give that a shot! Thanks for that!I did find a tutorial on modifying the effects file generator coordinates themselves, and have been using that to tweak the exact spot that the effects start at.Thanks a ton, I'll be doing some more playing around with FS it seems. :D Lets hope I don't have money to upgrade my PC anytime soon, or I'll have to learn a lot of stuff over for FSX. :(
