September 15, 200916 yr Don't use it for repainting (use PS8) but I've always used it for viewing the aircraft while I'm repainting it.Some of the aircraft I use fail to load up in FSRepaint and I get a message stating that 'FS Repaint cannot read or display this aircraft."I fly in FS9 and I've tried converting all the textures in a folder to DXT3, still no go and I've tried modifying the .cfg file to remove any FSX related sections and ...you guessed it...still no go.Anyone know what's causing these aircraft not to load in. They include Bill Ortiz's Quest Kodiak and Junkers W33/34 models as well as Top Fight Simulations Lockheed Air Express and some others I can't remember off the top of my head.Thx in AdvanceJeff
September 15, 200916 yr FSX models should be viewed in FSRepaint( FSR) in the FSX mode only.Direct FSR to the.....sim object/aircraft directory. In this mode FSR will be able to read FSX MDL.files.Sometimes FSR is not able to read the DDS files adressed by the mdl file and sometimes converting those DDS files to DXT3 or 32Bit DXT makes them readable for FSR again. ( mind do not forget to flip the textures vertically). No need to convert all texturefiles just the ones you want to edit. The others will stay grey at the model in FSR.Sometimes nothing helps.Leen de Jager

November 15, 200916 yr Thx Leen:You're right...sometimes nothing helps! :(Some MDL files (mostly payware) are protected, so they cannot be read anyway.
