For AA 4x box filter then you will have no cloud problems at least in stock FSX.

I'm curious to know which drivers you are using as I can't use anything beyond 9.6 without getting very bad freeze frame stuttering. I've tried 9.7, 9.8 and 9.9 and it's the same with all of them - 9.6 is the only one that works.

Well ive just installed 9.9 for xp and the same for windows 7 which i have fsx installed on, all seems ok for fs9 but on fsx im getting black boxes appearing around airports which is really annoying. Chris

I've tried everything both in game and in the catalyst control center and can't make any headway at all. It's annoying as I've read reports in other forums that 9.9 makes a big difference.Having said that it's really smooth with 9.6 so I don't really need to change anyway.

This is what I got off Device Manger.8.640.0.0 driver date is 7/14/2009I have had no problems with these drivers in FSX. Even the clouds and heavy weather has not been a problem with AA on 4x I run FSX in both DX9 and DX10 when I need a few extra FPS.Mesa try 2 things in CCC 4X AA box filter AF at 4X also. both set with use app box unchecked.

Well, that's just it. I'm running FSX DX10 flawlessly and super-smooth at 16x AA (Box) and 16x AF. Even if I try 9.9 at 4x for both I still get the terrible stutters. I'm only wanting to update the drivers because they should make a big difference with the newer games.

I just seen your sig. 4870x2. I have seen so many people post about trouble with that set up a single 4870 seems to have less problems. I think it has to do with crossfire. One trick I use is to take the F-18 and fly low at full speed over a big city and max all my settings for buildings and trees then adjust them down until I can't out run my load times it seems when everything keeps up with that and you get no blurries then you can have a smooth flight. I even bought a SSD drive to install just FSX on for faster loads. It seems like you have a great computer you should really not be have this happen.
