September 20, 200916 yr Hi all, Further to my earlier question about whether there is a paraglider model for fsx (I have been pointed towards a hangglider model which is close enough) I have been wondering whether it is possible to set gps points as the take-off and landing goals. Specifically, I have the gps coordinates of the hill-launch take-offs we used on an amazing paragliding holiday i had in verbier, and I am hoping there is some way to put the hangglider model on the hill at one of these gps points, recreate the flights i did in the real world, and save it as a flight. So far, I have only been able to start flights at airports (Lausannne being the nearest one, but not really near enough). Again, any help would be most appreciated!
September 20, 200916 yr I suppose you could use ADE (Airport Design Editor http://www.airportdesigneditor.co.uk/) to create a hanglider park (airfield). Obviously it would have to be near a hillside or mountain, but I think it could be done.If you have the lats, longs, and altitude. Post them here I'll see what I could do in a few minutes.

It is not really an airfield as such, rather just a smooth bit of hill next to/below a cafe up on the top of the ridge. I'll try to model it myself using the airport design editor though
September 22, 200916 yr Hi Shufty If you go to the information folders for either the Atos VR or the Brightstar Swift there is a readme that takes you through setting up a mountain launch .

The actual point was a bit constricted by trees so I moved it a few yards to the left and as I was there I thought I might as well save it for you . I set the flight up using the Atos , one notch of flaps , and enough fuel for a short run , wind is 16 kts onto the hill . All you need to do is start up cumulus X! , un-pause and open the throttle . Ah...... I have just tried to add to upload the flight as a zip but it wont let me ! :0( If you havent had any luck setting up yourself leave me a PM and I'll mail it to you . Cheers

I may eventually get around to setting up proper take offs but have found that just slewing the glider (dave rowberry's airborne c4 hang glider) to a point in the air just after take-off is actually fine for my purposes. Thank you v. much for checking it out though!
September 24, 200916 yr I neglected to mention David's last hang glider that you may find of interest, the A-I-R Atos VR. Serious stuff! Many thanks to David for all his great work.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
