June 30, 200322 yr Author Ukliam, Depends a lot on your landing weight, the heavier the airplane, the faster the approach speed, obviously. If you are about 3-4 degrees nose up or so with full flaps and gear down and N1 about 70% to hold the glideslope, you are probably close. Normally you fly a reference speed for the weight and flap setting and include some extra for headwinds and gusts. A B777 would probably hold 170 or so through the outer marker in stable final and then slow and add landing flaps. Probably 135-145 kts on final or so...Not sure that they always land with full flaps, I'm sure that is runway, weight and weather specific.Best bet is to get some performance data either available in the avsim file library or get the manual for the PSS 772 which has a detailed tutorial and a bunch of performance tables. regards, chris conklinHonolulu
