October 26, 200916 yr Hello,I bought the PMDG J41 when it came out last month but I've not been able to activate[via internet]it as of yet,Ive been in contact with PMDG about the problem and they seem to think their is a blocked port in my router,or some hidden firewall/anti-virus program running[iv'e since uninstalled my McAfee security program] that I cannot find.Ive been able to purchase and activate many payware addons since The j41 problem with no trouble and my internet connection is good but how do I go about finding a blocked port? I have a Motorola wireless router/modem all in one.Any help would be great.Thank You!!

I suggest asking PMDG which ports are required for this activity and then we can troubleshoot where to look for the problem. What is the model of the combination modem/router that you have?
December 14, 200916 yr Author Hello Tesserax,Sorry I've not gotten back to you till now,I solved my problem[for now] by borrowing a friends router/modem for the activation process then switching back to my old one which is a Motorola wireless router/modem combo model SBG900,I think the port they mentioned was 8888.
August 12, 201015 yr Hello Tesserax,Sorry I've not gotten back to you till now,I solved my problem[for now] by borrowing a friends router/modem for the activation process then switching back to my old one which is a Motorola wireless router/modem combo model SBG900,I think the port they mentioned was 8888.Since you were successful using another router, the culprit would most likely be your existing router as far as what may be blocking the required port. For future reference, if you need to determine if a specific port is being blocked, I suggest you use a free service like canuseeme.org. You would just enter the port(s) that you want to check and it verifies, whether or not, it is reachable from the Internet.
September 3, 201015 yr https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 That router may not allow pings by default. http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm Find your router.
