June 30, 200322 yr Here's something for you guys/gals searching for european charts (free of charge): Surfing the I just noticed that their new centralized [link:www.eurocontrol.int/ead/index.html|European AIS database (EAD)] with charts from many european countries went into operation earlier this month. The database homepage is located here: http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int Pressing "Go" at the bottom of the page will take you to a new page explaining all of the prerequisites you'll need to access the database. (Notice that it's a java application, so you'll have to activate java in your browser at least for this eurocontrol site). Clicking the logo at the top of [link:www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadexplorer/indexPU.html|this page] will load the java front-end to the database. (BTW: Having a newer browser version and/or java engine seems to be OK, so I guess one can ignore messages to that effect.)If the left menu loaded alright, double-clicking(!) on "PAMS" will load the database interface. Select the country (authority code) your interested in, select charts (AIP type) and hit the Refresh button. You should see something like this (you can reposition table headings):http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/19999.jpgTo see/download a chart, right-click on the appropriate table line and either select view or download. (BTW: download won't work for me. I just view the .pdfs in a new window and save them from there with acrobat.)While not all european countries are available yet, you'll find many and more than announced on the [link:www.ead.eurocontrol.int/status.html]status page.If this is old news to you, sorry for bothering.Otherwise I hope this was useful and have fun with those SID/STAR procedures,Peter
June 30, 200322 yr Excellent find. I had found one source that was extremely incomplete- an tended to direct one to the individual controlling agencies pages.Tim
