Scenery dev for n00bs

Featured Replies

I wanted to start changing airports/making them better (FOR FSX), for example my local one - VIDP. i have a million high res pics from all angles, but the default scenerry sucks.so any program i can use to do this?please note that i know NO coding, so what i need is some sort of click/drag/drop type of program..i looked at flight sim scenery creator, but it seems damn outdated. something much better?

ADE, airport design editor is great for fixing up aiports in fsx, it can also be used to place objects in your airport. Whisplacer is a freeware object placer for fsx even has a preview mode so with fsx running you can correctly place them. WYSIWYG i believe. even allows for scaling bjects but in the preview window they still appear normal size. There are other programs around i am still attemtping to learn for flattens , road placement etc.

Anyone starting out would be well served by downloading and reading the tutorials by Luis Feliz-Tirado. They have recently been reuploaded to the Avsim file library.

is there any program that i can use to make the runway/taxiway/etc to look exactly as it does in a sattelite image for example? or something like that?

Yes, Gmax or 3dsMax, if you can afford it. There are numerous tutorials available and you'll be needing them.
