Flight Simulator cannot load ----

Featured Replies

I've recently downloaded and installed a couple of panels for fs2002pro, but on firing up the program, I've been presented with the message "Flight Simulator cannot load gauge ---" in relation to a particular gauge.A search for information on the web only resulted in a tutorial by Dai Griffiths of Dragonflight Design which is way over my head. Apparently, the problem is only restricted to FS2K2 running under Windows XP and is related to "compiler switches and and final version type" according to Dai. A solution is given, using Microsoft Visual C++, but is only understandable if you have C++ programming knowledge.Anybody out there have an understandable solution to this ??Thanks.B.

A solution would only be available to those who have the gauge source. You can't recompile a dll without it--which is essentially what gauges are. Are you sure the gauges in question appear in your gauges folder?

John,Many thanks for your reply.Yes, the gauges are in the main GAUGES folder - I've checked.I'll download and re-install again to see if that fixes the problem. If not, I'll try to contact the author for help.B.

I've only recently heard of this happening with gauges that are too new, usually the gauges are too old, FS98 or CFS gauges, and particularly with some of the old GPS gauges. If you can figure out from the error message which gauge fails to load you may just be able to replace it in your panel with a comparable one.
