Saving aircraft.cfg - access denied

Featured Replies

Something to do with UAC I suppose, but I'm admin, user, everything and anyone has access to my PC (no password required) but when I modify an aircraft.cfg and try to save I get 'Access denied'. Go to the file, open properties, security, users, and allow permission, apply and all is well. This happens with every *.cfg file I try to save. Is there a way to have the permission apply to all files, everywhere, on my PC?

Your first sentence is your answer...Go into UAC,turn it off, modify your .cfg file and then turn it back on if you wish. I leave mine off...HTH..Lou

As there is no ON/OFF switch, I assume you mean move to 'never notify' is that correct? (I'm a noobe with Win7)

Thanks for that link. I eventually got over it by changing the permissions in the FSX folder ( mine is on a separate drive) Strange thing is I'm the only user and admin -no password required. Still, it's working now.
