missing defaults afcads?

Featured Replies

This is a new one to me. I do not have and add on scenery/scenery folder and I have no idea what to do. I have traffic2005 which gives me afcads but those are the only ones. The game runs fine, so I don't know what happened. Has this happened to anyone before because it's a first for me. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Default Afcads are not stored in Addon Scenery/scenery. They can be found in subfolders of Scenery, they're named APxxxxxx.BGL and actually contain more than one airport and more info than what is normally contained in an AF2 file. What makes you think you're missing files or that there may be a problem? There doesn't need to be a whole lot in Addon Scenery/scenery.

Well, before my computer crashed, I had an add on scenery/scenery folder and it had tons of afcads in them and when I downloaded a new afcad I deleted the specific afcad from that folder. Doesn't that folder come with a fresh installation? because I don't have one at all, or is it created from ultimate traffic or traffic 2005? The game still works, but I wondered if missing that folder will affect anything down the road.

I keep a fresh install of FS9.1 on a separate partition. The Addon Scenery folder by default only appears to contain two items. One scenery subfolder and one texture subfolder, both empty. So anything that was in there before the crash came from addons. Ultimate Traffic is a perfect example, it installs a bunch of F1UT_XXXX.bgl files. Anything that was lost, you'll have to install anew. The folder structure you can correct easily, the rest will be more of a challenge.
