July 11, 200322 yr I've been impressed with the group of beta testers that have identified themselves recently. Great to see so many talented simmers selected by MS to give the new product a go-round ! I see MS's involvement of the beta crew as a real plus, and sign of respect for the level of sophistication our simming community has developed over time.Question, I don't recall many (if any) "outside" beta team members being selected on earlier versions ? I'm sure their were some, but seems like MS selected many more for this upgrade, and previous releases were kept much more "internal" to MS ? Just curious if any of those involved could share a comment on this - and if the beta process itself was automated in anyway, conferences, etc ?Not in software development - just curious as to the process.
July 11, 200322 yr I was lucky enough to be a part of the testing for FS2002, CFS3 & FS2004, I've seen a good number of people onboard from my experience in the previous versions, so MS have a lot of external help. Once you've been selected they seem to keep you onboard for newer versions (Thankfully!).The NDA doesn't allow us to talk about what happens during the beta process, so I cannot comment on it.Hope this helps :) Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
