Airbus Long Haul

Featured Replies

Hi, trying to get VOXATC to work with my airbus long haul software. The problem is that none of the aircraft seem to be recognised. I've recently re-installed my comlete FSX system and it's the same. When the indexer screen appears and I "select all", I get panels installed for all the aircraft except the Airbus collection and something called "Orion on Skis". Even when I run the indexer again, the same aircraft are displayed which indicates that they haven't been installed correctly. In addition, the VOXATC option is not available from the menu, neither does it appear when switching to 2D cockpit view (which always happens with the other aircraft).Any ideas would be most welcome.Fotoflyer

Fotoflyer,There is always the option to install VoxATC manually into your panel. I have done this many times and VoxATC will work just as well.If you already have other panels that work, then you should be off to a good start by comparing those to the Airbus.Just remember to back up the original :(

This also happened to me. I did as above and manually added the Wilco Airbus panel and the first time it came up it worked, then I had to reload because it didn't recognize my flight plan. The next time it said it was an invalid FS plane or something like that. I closed out and checked my panel.cfg and it still had my VoxATC info in it. Loaded back up and it worked that time. It still didn't recognize my flight plan as being IFR, yet after doing a radio check, I got a "FATAL ERROR! Please disable VoxATC". I did, and it's working (for now). Not sure what's going on.... Did it last time with Wilco Airbus and won't work on that plane. All others (that I know of) work fine. Also, I can't run the panel set up because I get a CTD saying the program has crashed. I am using Windows 7 x64. I can do everything else with VoxATC, but the panel setup won't work, nor will my Wilco Airbus work properly.

First, your flight plan not being recognized by VoxATC has nothing to do with the setup of VoxATC in the aircraft panel.Second, have you run the VoxATC indexer first?Fatal error is usually related to not running the indexer or a faulty scenery addon.Have you tried running the Panel setup as Administrator? You may also try to install VoxATC manually into the Airbus panel.cfg.

Running VoxATC Panel Setup in any mode, administrator or otherwise, does absolutely nothing. Even running in XP compatibility or anything of the sort does squat. I can get the panel to load into the Airbus no problem by manually adding it, but after just a couple comms, it does the FATAL ERROR messege. Running the indexer now, but that didn't help too much during the last installs I did. BTW, I have to install from version 5.4 (?) first to get the Panel Setup to run, but the indexer doesn't run, then I have to install 5.63 over that so that the indexer will do its job, but the panel setup doesn't work.Otherwise, with any other aircraft, this program is pretty amazing and I've been using it for nearly every flight that I can.

Thats strange because installing the 5.63 should be enough to get you up and running, without installing 5.4.Do you get fatal error with any flight plan from other airports as well?If so, you should contact VoxATC support about this.

Nope, only with the airbus, no matter which airport I fly out of or flight plan I use. First, I load my flight, I have it saved as a .flt file because I noticed that voxATC only lets me use .flt files instead of just .pln, otherwise it says it can't recognize the flight plan and that I am set for "local VFR".Then, I click enable. It says, "5.63 initializing...." after which it changes and says something along the lines of, "the plane you are using feelthere/Wilco Airbus 320-200 is not a valid FS plane, please disable voxATC." (That's not exactly what it says, but close enough). It then changes again after a few minutes and reloads, going through the initialization, loads the voices, then tells me to "tune radio to XXX clearance, ground, etc.) on yyy.yyy" I do this, and it gives me three options, 1. Taxi for local flight 2. Taxi for pattern 3. Radio check. Which ever option I choose, usually option 3 in hopes of being able to switch to IFR, I do my radio check, recieve "readability 5", and before responding with my readability, it says "FATAL ERROR! Please disable voxatc."As for being able to use 5.63 directly, I first have to install 5.34 or whatever to get it to show me the panel selection screen. It won't index on the older version, giving me some sort of an error (can't think of the type now, but it's a system error because it's happened when trying to install World of AI and not realizing that I was trying to extract the installer into the aircraft folder, as well), but it will let me choose the panels to install. And also, doing this last night again, I realized, like the original poster, it won't install onto the Orion with Skis. All the others "seem" to be installed correctly, but that's the only one that shows up again and again when I re-run the selector. After this, I install 5.63 and allow it to index my scenery and a/c. This finishes, I click "finish." Then comes the readme file in IE8, but no panel selector. If I run it manually, it gives me a "VAPanelSelect has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program." Only one option available, "close the program". Nothing about details or compatibility or searching for solutions online. Either way, though the panel is installed through the prior version, or if not, manually, into the Wilco Airbus, it does not work as it is supposed to, although every other a/c I have tried does work well. My thinking is that it doesn't like my FS2Crew (although it doesn't work even with the regular Wilco Airbus without FS2Crew installed...) because I also have it for the default 747, and either one or the other (voxatc or fs2crew) works, but not both at the same time. Maybe there is some incompatibility between these products that is making voxatc not run correctly, or maybe it is just my ignorance to all things technological that is making it not work. If it's the prior, it's unfortunate because I like things to be as real as possible, and with my virtual airline, I need an A320, and none work for me like the Wilco does, and not having fs2crew running just seems... wrong in a way, as far as realism. I'll keep messing around with different combinations, but if all else fails, I'll have to settle for using SuperATC for the Wilco and use VoxATC for everything else.

Morgan,You have a weird problem here and you really should contact VoxATC directly about it.

No need. I figured out my problem and it was actually so simple that I didn't even consider it.I am using a JetBlue repaint, which I should have first mentioned but I didn't think that was the issue, I thought it was the plane in general. After a bit of thinking and drinking, I thought it must be something in the aircraft config file or something similar. So I loaded up FSX and voxATC to see what it said. It said that it didn't recognize the "Blues Brothers" as a plane. So with that in mind, I looked in the A/C name database for VoxATC. I saw "feelThere Wilco Airbus A320 IAE" but no option for the "blues brothers" texture. I couldn't add it to the database manually, so I figured I'd check in the config files. I had done this before but didn't see my paint scheme listed at the top. I thought to myself each time I saw this, "where the heck is my texture line?" Well, it was at the very bottom of the file, where I didn't see it. I took off the top [fltsim.0] section and moved my Blues Brothers [fltsim.1] section to the top renaming the .1 to .0 and also taking off the "Jet Blue Blues Brothers" title and just keeping it as "feelThere Wilco Airbus 320 IAE" or whatever the default is. After taking off all signs of the aircraft having the "Blues Brothers" insignia and making it replicate 99% of the original file (minus the line pointing to my texture folder), it now appears in the sim with the same name as the House livery. That solved my problem and now it works perfectly. Thanks for the patience with me and sorry for being such a n00b. Hopefully this post will help someone in the future. Moral of the story: Rename the a/c repaint to the same as the one in the database if using multiple liveries of the same a/c. Of course, make a backup, and I do not take responsibility if it messes up your PC (it shouldn't). When I have time I'll try to see what happens if I make a new A/C folder using all the liveries in case I get more of the same type of plane and I don't want to keep messing with config files.
