  1. Hi guys, I'm just about to start tearing my hair out, lol! Problem is that when I'm on VATSIM, I can't hear the ATCs over the noise of the 737NGX and the airport envirnonment noise. I know it's probable that my setting up is at fault, but what I would really like to do is have all the background sounds through the speakers and just the FS2Crew and VATSIM through the headphones. At the moment, the engine noise and general airport noise just drowns everything else out! Any advice in setting up my audio to achieve this would be very welcome. Many thanks Foto
  2. Hi guys, Since building my new system based on the i7 3770k, I still cannot get much change out of my FSX installation. I'm still running my old graphics card (GTS450) and was wondering if that might be a bottleneck. Is it worth upgrading the GPU? Some people say that upgrading to something like a GTX770 will make a real difference but others say that the CPU does most of the work and a new graphics card would be a waste of money. I'd really appreciates some advice here. Many thanks Foto
  3. As nobody answered, I decided to go ahead and re-install onto a really clean 256Gb Samsung SSD. 737NGX with everything "maxxed out" and no overclocking, 25-30fps at Gatwick Extreme Airport. No that's FAST!!!
  4. Hi guys, I'd like a bit of advice please. My flight sim pc started to do all sorts of weird things and I was thinking of upgrading the processor and memory to something a bit faster. However, as life has it, I built a new system instead but have restored the FSX systems that I'd previously backed up. My question is this. Now that I have all new hardware with the exception of the graphics card, would it be best to re-install FSX from scratch. My previous system was a Q9300 series dual core with 4Gb DDR2 RAM. My new System is: i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50 GHz Azrock Z77 Extreme Motherboard 8Gb DDR3 RAM Nvidia GTS450 Graphics Card. Apart from making sure everything works, I've not run FSX in earnest yet. 5. No, buy I have exactly the same problem. I will have a look to see if there is a "key-clash" but I only noticed it when I upgraded to the new version. It happens whether I use the joystick button or the assigned key on the keyboard.Very strange.Foto
  6. Hi, trying to get VOXATC to work with my airbus long haul software. The problem is that none of the aircraft seem to be recognised. I've recently re-installed my comlete FSX system and it's the same. When the indexer screen appears and I "select all", I get panels installed for all the aircraft except the Airbus collection and something called "Orion on Skis". Even when I run the indexer again, the same aircraft are displayed which indicates that they haven't been installed correctly. In addition, the VOXATC option is not available from the menu, neither does it appear when switching to 2D cockpit view (which always happens with the other aircraft).Any ideas would be most welcome.Fotoflyer
  7. Thanks fellas. I don't really need it that much, mostly for flight planning and just to have a look to see where I am. Might just have to get a third party flight planner. Any ideas please.Foto
  8. I'm sure this topic has been brought up before; I just can't find it on the forums.I have VFR Generation X from Horizon Simulations and the problem is that the World Map/Flight Planner Map gets covered in blue tiles as soon as I open it and look over the UK. This only happens when Generation X is enabled in scenery options. In effect, the UK disappears underwater and is the same colour as the surrounding sea which makes any detailed flight planning impossible. If I disable Generation X, then all is normal.Could somebody please point me in the right direction for an answer. I'm sure it is something to do with the settings; just don't know what though.Safe flyingFotoflyer
  9. It must have been some sort of conflict. I reset the PC back to factory conditions, re-installed all my FSX and add-ons and now it all works OK.I've also decided to keep all my flight sim software on Drive C. All my other pc stuff is on different. If you don't have multiple drives, why not use something like Partition Magic. It will probably run better anyway.RegardsFoto
  10. I have exactly the same problem. I'd suggest that whoever solves it first notifies the other. I think it must be a conflict somewhere as I can't see anyone else having this specific problem. If you can let me know what you have installed, we can compare notes and perhaps work it out together.RegardsFotoflyer
