ASA over network

Featured Replies

Good evening everybody,After my previous attempt to get ASx to work over my network with FSX on Windows 7 ultimate 64bit.But, instead of trying on my own, I want to use the available knowledge here on the forums. What have I done so far.- installed windows 7, including all drivers, all updates up untill today.- installed Flightsimulator X deluxe version, with acceleration pack.- I made sure that the necessary files are shared over the network and checked it by reading and writing files, using my laptop. Firewall on both pc's dsabled for now.- I installed ASA on the client pc, including the service pack making ASA build 433.- I have made the changes to the simconnect.xml and the simconnect.ini on the server pc- I have made the changes to the simconnect.cfg on the client.but when I run aitraffic I get no connection....ALL help welcome...Luc BrusslmansBelgium

Hi,One thing to check is that the Workgroup names for your network are the same. Win 7 uses a different name than XP or Vista did.

Ok Jim,I have it working now BUT...strange thing is that ASA AND ASX work over the network but that the AItraffic still shuts down without connection. Now I have the sinking feeling that my previous attempt to get the network going did succeed but that I never knew because I have always made the test with AItraffic and never with ASX or ASA...And I am sure that both programs work now 'cause I see the green tape on the server telling me that ASA starts depicting the weather.I am a happy man although I still don't know what is happening with aitraffichappy flyingLuc BrusselmansBelgiumps I have ASA installed on my old laptop. I assume that I can reinstall asa as long as it's on the same laptop without getting into trouble with my activations?

Hi,Very nice and you are correct about the activations.
