video recording

Featured Replies

Hello, When I record a video I am having a big problem. I can record my first video just fine. When I record my second or anyone after that, when I play the video, the aircraft goes crazy like up 2500ft then down to 0, then to 1000ft, then to 200ft then lands somewhere close to where I landed when I was done with the video. Its really weird. Any ideas?

When you say, "video", do you mean a replay from within FSX?Or do you mean playing back a video after you recorded it with something like FRAPS?

No not the replay..When I play back my video after I recorded with the default FSX video thing... Not FRAPS

I've never encountered such a phenomenon with a flight recording but a couple of questions suggest themselves...Is the recorded flight behavior essentially the same with each replay? That would suggest the recording is/was corrupt and the aircraft is trying its best to repeat what it 'thinks' is the proper sequence. If it behaves differently each playback then the recording may be fine. I would be rebooting the sim and replaying the 'suspect recording' to see if it behaves the properly or not.Regardless, when you tire of messing with it, download FSRecorder and use it instead. I'm a recent 'convert' to the utility and find it easy to use with lots of options, not the least of which is to play back the recording as if it were 'AI' traffic and fly with it! The recorded tracks are much smaller and allow up to an hour's recording time. Check it out.flying with multiple recordings is a blast!Loyd

Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro

Yes it does the same thing when I try each replay. I will try FS recorder and see how that works.
