Disconnecting AFCS

Hey folksI seem to encounter a problem at the end of most flights and i'm hoping you may be able to help me!When i take over from the auto-pilot to hand-fly an approach, the only way i can find to disconnect the auto-throttle is to throw the 2 AFS switches on the MCD. This makes a red box flash around the auto-pilot status next to the artificial horizon, I can now command the throttle and land the aircraft.I then don't seem to be able to re-set this ready for my next flight. I've re-cycled the 2 switches back so you can't see the red/black lines anymore but the flashing red box seems to stay.Am i turning the auto-throttles off incorrectly?Thanks in advance for your help!Jamie Boreham

Those switches should never need to be touched unless in a emergency. To disconnect the Auto thrust assign a button to your hardware or a keystroke in the PMDG options menu.I should also point out that normal SOP on the current MD11 operators is to leave the Autothrust on all the way down to touchdown unless landing in heavy gusts.RegardsRob
