Thinking of going for Phase Change cooling

Featured Replies

Thinking of getting the cryo-z form OCZ $380 , but could not find any pc builder i can trust to install the unit.I finall found a company, but they say they can only warranty thier custom phase change unit which is $900I am hoping to get 5gHz with DO i7920 using phase cooling.Any thoughts or advice folksfor example will i need to upgrade to faster Ram as i near 5Ghz, currently using cheap ddr3 triple channel max speed of 1333-1600.

If you read the OP's post carefully, you'll see that he is having a professional build this for him. Bob's comments don't apply to this scenario.
Thanks for the observation techguy.First time i ever heard about phase change is on the post Bob pointed to , thing is that post is about a no cash limit pc build, i am only looking for advice regarding the pros and cons of getting phase change cooling.I was going to crack my wallet for the ocz cryo-z at $380, but google search revealed that , seems some still have problems with condensation with this device, IF THE MOTHER BOARD IS NOT WELL PREPARED TO DEAL WITH POSSIBLE CONDENSATION ISSUES.For example if i can hit 5ghz on phase change with D0 i7920 i can wait some years before upgrading to i7975 or even gulftown, is this a vlaid calculationIt would be nice for someone with phase change to come and comment. Thanks

Check my posts from the same thread. I linked to an actual Cryo-Z user's reports on the unit at another forum.
