i5 661 setup to run flightsim?

I have been thinking about getting a i5 661 setup to run flightsim (FSX) but wonder if I would see any difference from my present setup as set out below.Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Socket 775 LGA @ 3.00GHz OC'ed to 4.09GHz. Gigabyte EP45_UD3LR motherboard with Award bios F54GHz Kingstone Hyper DDR2. 1066ATI - Radeon HD4890 1GB GDDR5 onboard.Corsair TX650 power supply.Thermaltake ISGC-300 air cooler.Windows 7 64bit.Also what about a i7 quad. Is there any advage in using a Quad core?Richard.
