PMDG 747 in fsx can work with time aceleration up to x8 , any further and the AP will disconect. You have to hand fly above x8.

I always thought the two were equal(ish) in terms of accelerating time.In FS9 you probably won't see so many blurred textures as FSX, but then you don't see a lot of things you get in FSX. The more complex the aircraft, the more trouble it may have with boosted time. Basically, if the autopilot or the pitch leveller starts chasing the needle, you will see a lot of oscillation in accelerated time. However, that really depends on the individual aircraft model.
