Scenery Install Order

Featured Replies

What's the correct order to install scenery, mesh, and landclass? Is it mesh, scenery, and then LC? Or, is it a different combination. I used to know, but I can't remember it. My computer crashed and after a month, I finally got it working. Now, I'm reinstalling everything for FS2004. Not only did my hard drive crash, but I think my memory went with it :-)Thanks,Mike Franks

So, the order for scenery library is:1. Mesh2. Scenery3. LandclassI couldn't remember if Mesh was first, or last. Thanks,Mike Franks

I think the skinny on the terrain mesh is that it's prioritized by the best resolution available. So if you have a LOD12 mesh and a LOD9 mesh in the same area, the LOD12 mesh will be used no matter where it resides in the scenery.cfg file. The only issue that you could run into is when you have 2 meshes at the same LOD level. The one that will be used will be the one closest to the start of the scenery.cfg file.In other words, the one with the smallest layer will be used. So layer 1 will be used before layer 2 if the terrain meshes are the same LOD. Hope that helps!Mark
