FSX is far more limited by the speed of your CPU, than it is by the speed of your hard drive. In fact, a faster hard drive will have absolutely no impact on your framerate. What it can do for you is load the sim and its contents faster. This may lead to faster texture loading in-flight.

I have the raptor 10k and what it does for me is let me increase settings to a higher level and this does reduce frame rates but it is still very smooth. so even tho at complex airports with traffic at 80% my rates drop to 10 wich in smoothness feels and looks like I am getting at least 15

Hi GuysWhat Ive done so far:Overclocked CPU to 3.0 GHz - never done before, but seems very stable.upgraded to Windows 7 64bit, bought student edition and upgraded (clean install).WD Caviar Black 1T HD for Windows 7 etc.WD Caviar Black 1T HD for X-plane, downloads etc.WD 300GB Velociraptor for FSX.Just loading things onto new hard drives, seams to be working OK.
