January 29, 201016 yr If you're going to overclock you'll want faster RAM, usually DDR3 1600 CL7 or 8. Everything else looks good except the power supply. I wouldn't trust an off-brand PSU as far as I could throw it, and a 1KW PSU for $110 tells me that thing is likely garbage. Go for a quality 650W or 750W unit from the likes of Corsair and you'll be much happier.
January 29, 201016 yr Sounds good to me, I think a 1KW power supply is overkill, though. I built a similar system last year with a 650W Cooler Master PS and it works fine.

Are the CPU coolers both good choices? The Thermalright is $40 more than the Coolermaster. I am considering two 5850's in CF or one 5870.

I am considering two 5850's in CF or one 5870.The Coolermaster Hyper 212+ has tested very, very well. Some of the overclocking geeks get all snobby at the cheap price, though. They would tell you to get the Thermalright. If I were on a budget I'd save the $40, get the Coolermaster, and put the savings towards a better PSU. Coolermaster, or Corsair as TechGuy suggested, are both good choices. Is there a Microcenter in your area? They have really good deals on the i7 920.I'm running FSX on a 5870 myself. Running two 5850's in CF will look nice in other games but will do nothing at all in FSX since FSX can only use one GPU.
January 29, 201016 yr The best cooler on the market right now is Noctua's NH-D14. Thermalright's IFX-14 is a close second. The Venomous X cooler you mentioned is similar to the infamous TRUE cooler that's been popular among overclockers for several years now. Should be very close to the IFX-14 in performance.
January 29, 201016 yr Thanks again. I am leaning toward having Directron PC build and test this PC for me. The down side is that they are oos of some components that I preferred. They just got the Corsair 850TX back in stock so I will switch to that. The HEC Zephyr PSU got surprisingly good reviews at Newegg.
