My Current FS9 System

Featured Replies

I am going to be updating my system as per previous topic "My First Build... " Currently I have...CPU Celeron D347 3.04GHzRAM 1GB DDR2 533MHzGRA ATI RADEON Xpress 200HD 80GBOS XP HomeI get good FPS in FS9 generally on Med or High setting dependant on what I have running with Flight Simulator (ie PMDG Aircraft, Traffic, Scenery etc).I am still going ahead with my first build 'blueprint' 750w PSU, Win7 Pro x64, 6GB RAM, 4.5TB (3x 1.5TB HDD) AMD Phenom ii x4, ASUS M4A77TD, Sapphire HD 5750 1GB GDDR5 (still subject to change). Would this be a good evnironment to run Flight Simulator in for the best FPS in Highest setting? What changes could be made in order to get even more FPS and better graphics quality... if any?

For FS9 - sure. Not for FSX though. You'd need way more CPU and GPU horsepower to tame FSX w/high settings + add-ons.

Yeah... I've been put off FSX for the moment... My budget wont allow for these new i7 chips but I've planned on doing a lot of overclocking to the phoenom 965 :( So I've decided to stick with FS9 (stick to what yo know as they always say... LOL)So back to the new build and FS9, how would it fair with lots of add-ons? Aircraft, Scenery, Traffic, Weather, Clouds, Squawk, and the countless other add-ons I have... my current system struggles with PMDG add-ons and the PSS 757 although it runs JF 737 PIC and PSS 777 relatively well!

You may encounter frame rate drops when flying with lots of clouds, but otherwise that system should handle everything FS9 can throw at it.
