February 4, 201016 yr HiI've had FSX for some time but i had to remove it because of memory issues. Yesterday i reinstalled it but when i started flying, the elevator trim was all the way down and made the nose go up and no way to control it. I tried changing the airplane and scenario but with every airplane it was the same problem. I've had this problem before but usually the whole thing got fixed by reinstalling it again, only this time it didn't work, even though i reinstalled it twice. I read in another article that some guy had a similar problem with the aileron trim set to the right and fixed it by reducing the P-effect to zero, but i already tried that and didn't work either. So i would appreciate any help anyone can give me to aid me in this problem, its driving me crazy.Thank you in advanceDaniel
February 4, 201016 yr Sounds like either the stick is out of calibration, or the autopilot is switched on. Hit the "Z" key: if you hear a "beep - beep - beep" sound - that was the problem. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

Also a tried to switch on the autopilot to see if something happened but it only took control away of the stick and made the plane turning franticly. But thanks anyway.Daniel
February 4, 201016 yr Daniel,You said 'clibrated then disconneted the stick'. Isn't that BACKWARDS? First you disconnect stick (so things reset) then plug it back in, start FSX, then go do the calibration (which should be 'good' until the next time you disconnect the stick) from within FSX. If you have a yoke/pedals, be sure you click on the stick. The other thing concerns the fsx.cfg file. Did you delete it as part of your un-install and prior to doing the re-install? The fsx.cfg has the controls values for your stick. If it was 'wrong' before, it could be you are looking at the 'old' fsx.cfg and the stick will behave the same as before. If you made entries (tweaks) to fsx.cfg, save it or rename it and then delete it so FSX can re-build a new one. Find fsx.cfg and delte it, THEN start FSX so it can build a new one. Then whatever you do, calibrate the stick before you exit FSX.CBNapamule
February 4, 201016 yr Does this happen with the default aircraft? I've had this happen a few times when I switched addon-planes: somehow the new plane couldn't handle some settings of the previously loaded plane and I had to load a default plane to reset things. So you might want to try to load the default ultra-light and then reload the plane that's giving you problems.Do you have any buttons assigned to trim and if so, what happens when you press them?

The installation made a new cfg file and corrected the problem. Now it runs perfectly. Thanks a lotDaniel

I think you misunderstood Napamule: he meant "delete the aircraft.cfg file" - not the whole sim! The first thing to do when you have a strange problem is to rename that aircraft.cfg file, so that FSX will make a new one - automatically. Similarly - it's quite common and well-known that a corrupt logbook will prevent the sim from starting - it hangs: Also - depending upon the problem - put the DVD in and do a "Repair" on FSX. These three "fixes" are a whole lot easier than gutting the whole thing. :( i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

I hadn't understand quite well that just by renaming it, FSX would replace the cfg file automatically. it took some time re-installing the whole sim but it worked.lolthanksDaniel
