February 4, 201016 yr Jim et al,I remember in ASV 6.5 we had the option to suppress updates below xxx feet. While it was not perfect it certainly helped. How do we get similar functionality like that with ASA. It seems like for me, without fail as I turn base for final after a 6-10 hour flight ASA kicks in and I am forced to do my final approach and landing in a stuttering choppy mess. Last night I went so far as to just shut ASA down 5 miles from the threshold because it was destroying an otherwise enjoyable flight. How do I force ASA not to depict anything in FS while I am say below 5000 feet or within xxx miles from final? Even better is when you are looking at the wxr report in ASA and it is telling you it is overcast and raining and you land in clear skies and halfway to the gate all of a sudden the rain comes...So a more appropriate question would be how do we improve the depiction accuracy on finals in ASA but short of that how do I just STOP it from outputting to FS during critical times such as approach and landing? Thanks in advance,-PaulEdit: I should mention I am running over WideFS, I have tried locking the ASA core, increasing process priority, force high priority processes within ASA, nothing seems to have any affect at all. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
February 4, 201016 yr Hi Paul,Local Suppression was removed after ASv6.5.You can use Force Destination Wx Zone in combination with a 30 minute download interval. We are working on a SP which may fix the Force Destination option and help with late rendering weather.
