February 5, 201016 yr Hello All,Sometime in the last few months, my real-world weather download stopped functioning. FSX appears to reach the weather server, it appears to sucessfully load it into the sim (no error message), but it is always the same (wrong) weather. I cleared all caches with no change. Strange thing is, when I click the check box to download the winds aloft as well, it loads the correct weather. Removing the check box causes it to return to incorrect behaviour. With those violent heading shifts, I just can't run with the winds aloft turned on. Anyone have any experience with this? Anyone know SPECIFICALLY (folder AND file) to which the weather is downloaded? Anyone know specifically what goes on under the hood? I know FSX pics up the internet server location from the CFG file. It is OK. I'm stumped.PLEASE: I don't need any recommendations on 3rd party weather apps. Would like to keep this discussion on FSX's weather. Thanks!EDIT: I have confirmed that NONE of the settings in the DISPLAY/WEATHER page eliminate this problem EXECEPT the winds aloft check box. Tried changing the drawing distance, cloud type etc. Could this be an XML or FSUIPC issue?
February 5, 201016 yr I gave up on FSX downloaded weather a long time ago and got an addon, but both may be affected by FSUIPC. At least I know the addon weather was. You can disable FSUIPC by moving it's dll file to another folder and see if it helps. That took care of my problems with crazy windshifts. Since I havn't been using FSX weather downloads, I can"t vouch for them. Art
