Simon, you're a mate. I've just printed that explanation and I'll work through it tomorrow. It's late at night here in Spain so am off to hit the sack.Thanks for responding so promptly. If I still can't get it to work I hope I can discuss it with you a bit more. I'm keen to crack this problem as I'm used to flying the superb PMDG 747 under FSX and want to evaluate the difference beteen the two Sims. Incidentally I installed X-Plane only today and confirm that I updated it to version 9.45.Regards..................Cliffie
