"Error loading GPS_ENGINE,....." when FS2k2 startup !?

Featured Replies

Guys,I need some help here.I got this msg "Error loading GPS_Engine", Flight Plan will not be used" when starting up my fs2k2. I had reinstalled my Backuped traffic.bgl, but the msg still appears. The only reason that I suspected is the installation and running of AI Traffic Version 1.0 program might had caused this error.(I did not have this error msg before I installed the AI Traffic program.Guys, pls kindly help and advise.Thank you very much.Kelvin

Kevin,The quick fix is likely to be to start FS2K2 from the default Meigs situation. Since this situation does not have a flight plan incorporated you should not see the "Error loading GPS_Engine". I have no knowledge of AI flight plans since I have never used them, but I suspect what applies to GPS plans also applies to AI plans. If you load a plan and then save the situation, whenever you return to the same situation, FS2K2 looks for the flight plan to load with the situation. If the flight plan has been modified, renamed or removed then the "Error loading GPS_Engine" appears. My guess is that you have set a situation with a flight plan as a default and then modified or removed the flight plan, hence your problems. I hope this helps.Denis.
